I am ‘Nanny’, a very ordinary woman of that certain age, where you find the time and inclination to learn ‘new’ things. I hope to share some of those things, mixed with some that are already a part of me…I am Nanny to 6 beautiful grand children and that is where Nannycraft came from – “Nanny, can we do sum cwaft now?” They love entering the restricted space of ‘Nanny’s Craft Room’ and getting lost in the wonder of fabric, ribbons, buttons, colour……..
I like to try different crafts and live in awe of those wonderful women of yesteryear – how lucky are we to have the opportunity to ‘choose’ to experience a craft as a pleasurable pass time rather than a life necessity. I delve into sewing, quilting, crochet, knitting, papercraft and water colour painting and love sharing with like minded people …
I am married to a wonderful man – a man who does all he can to help me pursue my crafts, a man who waits patiently when I go shopping for supplies and a man who is the first to offer encouragement and appreciation of my efforts. He is also my travelling partner for this life – we have been together for 40 years (yes we met in the hospital nursery!!)
He was diagnosed with Coeliac disease some years ago and is the reason for my interest in Gluten free food and recipes. I hope we will be able to share our favourites as we go..
He is also the driver of our motorhome and my adventuring partner. We love to get away, preferring the back roads to the main highways, as we discover new and exciting parts of this wonderful country together. I would love to share some of our discoveries ..
I am an educator – I spent my working life in the Education system and was medically retired following a car accident. This left me with chronic back and neck pain and Fibromyalgia, and yes, I have searched high and low for answers. During my lows, I discovered a love of writing as a means of expression and maybe I will share some of my jottings …
Thanks for taking the time to meet me and I welcome you to join me when you can …..
Nanny xx
